| Rising
in the compound of Jianfu (Good Fortune
Offering) Temple, another famous Tang temple
the lesser Wild Goose Pagoda lies south
of Xi'an, in the distance the Greater Wild
Goose Pagoda can be seen. It was built in
707 during the first reigning year of Emperor
Jinglong of the Tang. Originally it was

Wild Goose Pagoda is 43.3 meters high with 13
stories. The square pagoda is an elegant brick
structure with closely arranged eaves. In 1192,

the bell was struck and it could be heard throughout

of Guanzhong "Morning Bell Tolls from Wild
